Nicola Rizzoli, referee designator and former referee clarified an episode concerning Milan to DAZN. The incident is the penalty against Torino in the league due to Belotti's foul on Brahim Diaz:
"That is a difficult situation where from the pitch, the referees assess that Belotti takes the ball. From the field they say 'ball, ball', both referee and assistant. The referee asks for normal speed, it is important. In reality, from the TV, we see that it is a matter of timing, of frames, before taking the ball there is a contact between the two knees.
"We would not have wanted the intervention of the VAR, because the VAR only goes to look for the perfect clues of frames just before or after. We could be of one idea or another, for this reason these are not the situations where technology has to intervene."
