According to a mid-season review published by StatsBomb earlier this month, AC MIlan are arguably the most likely candidates to suffer a drop off in results from now on, even though, the statistical outlet expects this season to be Milan’s most successful campaign since finishing third in 2012/13.
The UK-based company explained this decline by the fact that the Rossoneri are performing almost exactly in line with their metrics, which is not as strong as those of their main challengers.
Moreover, Zlatan Ibrahimovic's teammates have benefited from far more than their fair share of penalties, as they’ve won nearly three times and scored exactly twice as many as any other team. Meanwhile, they’ve already been awarded six more penalties and scored two more than in the entirety of last season.
