Kristoffer Ajer, who has been linked to AC Milan, was urged by former manager Lee Clark, to reject moves from Serie A and Premier League, and sign a new contract at Celtic.
In an interview with Daily Record, Clark confirmed that he believes the 22-year-old would be better served staying at Celtic Park for now, unless his beloved Newcastle makes a bid to sign the defender.
“Kris has the quality to play at any top club and I’m not surprised when I see him linked with the biggest clubs from England and Italy".
“I know different clubs who are keen on his signature, so it is important for Celtic to tie him down but will difficult because players naturally want to play in Serie A or Premier League".
Clark signed the Norwegian on loan for Kilmarnock back in 2017.
