The Croatian will miss the Europa League first round of 16 meeting with Manchester United but could be back in time for next Sunday's league game against Napoli. Pioli hopes to have the Croatian center-forward available, as his recovery is crucial to the Rossoneri who are without a true number 9 since the injury of star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Mario Mandzukic is currently struggling with a slight muscle problem and is already running again in Milano.
