Manchester United left-back Alex Telles has spoken about Milan in an exclusive interview given to his club's official media, ahead of the game against AC Milan in the Europa League round of 16's second leg. Here are his statements:
On the challenge against Milan:
“Our main challenge will be to have a great game, put everything we've been doing in training into practice and continue doing everything we've been doing in recent games. It won't be easy, Milan are a great team and are playing very well. Our biggest challenge will be to work hard from start to finish, faithfully following Ole's instructions and if we do this we'll definitely leave Milan with a positive result."
On the qualities they need against Milan:
“I think the qualities we need for the next game are the same ones we've been showing, no change from what we've been doing - play together, united, with each player knowing their role. I think the most important thing is helping your team-mate out in whatever situation, if a team-mate is having a tough time we'll lift them up so we can get a good result. Also playing without fear, play the way we've always been playing, move the ball as quickly as possible and I'm sure we'll get the goal.“
On his spell with Inter Milan:
“I had a great time at Inter, I was very young and I learnt a lot there, On a tactical level, I think the Italian school of football really works the tactical side of the team. I learnt a lot as a player and evolved a great deal tactically, I undoubtedly left there a much better, more developed player."
On the defensive area against Milan:
"I think the defensive area is the most important, scoring goals is great obviously but to score goals we need to defend well. Defending starts up front with our attackers. It will be very important for us to go into the game focused on our defence as Milan are a very good side with quality players. I'm sure that if we score and defend as well as we have been in recent games, we'll score and get through to the next round.“
