In an exclusive interview granted to Milannews.it, Luca Demange, journalist at Culture PSG has spoken about the contractual situation of AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and the Parisian club's interest on the Italy International. Here are his statements:
On PSG's interest on Donnarumma:
"If Donnarumma does not renew with Milan it would represent a huge opportunity. PSG are very happy with Keylor Navas, but he is 34 years old. Donnarumma is 22 and already has more than 200 professional matches under his belt. PSG could think about him in the future and take a step forward for the goalkeeper, even if I don't think today [he] is a priority."
On whether Navas and Donnarumma could coexist:
"I think it would be a dream to be able to count on both Navas and Donnarumma, with the Italian taking over from Navas in due course. This would mean that Donnarumma would initially split the minutes with Navas before becoming PSG's starting goalkeeper for a long time. , this seems difficult to imagine. Donnarumma is a goalkeeper who could play a starter in many, many clubs. I doubt he can accept waiting for Navas to leave Paris to establish himself definitively."
On whether Donnarumma's requests (10-12 million euros) are very high:
"It is true that at this moment Donnarumma's demands may seem excessive, but he is very young, already very experienced and destined to become one of the best goalkeepers of the next decade. He has all the cards in hand to turn the situation in his favor. [If] PSG or another club were to buy him at the end of June, they would not pay any cost of the card, which is a luxury. This is why they could afford to offer him a very high salary to convince him".
