In an exclusive interview granted to the well-known French newspaper L'Equipe, former Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu has revealed an anecdote about AC Milan, who were interested in his services in the past. Here are his words:
“Milan wanted me when I was sixteen. To convince me not to go was Jean Fernandez told me 'You are not ready, you are not strong enough mentally to go right now, if you go now you are a dead man'. And with hindsight I can say that he was right”.
