AC Milan midfielder Valentina Bergamaschi granted an exclusive interview to Milan TV and spoke about the last game against Napoli, the hype for the last few games of the season and more.
Here are her words:
On the last match, against Napoli:
"I think, on paper, it was quite an easy game, but Napoli came here with two good results in a row then, we know very well their strength, that their determination was their best weapon so far, and we were playing against a team that area fighting against relegation, so I would say it was a great maturity test for all of us and we overcame it positively."
On AC Milan’s great performances up till now:
"Well, its not easy to uphold high standard throughout the whole season. We’ve also had our ups and downs, but we are a strong group, we’ve always got back up, we keep working to improve ourselves."
On what it means to play for AC Milan:
"To be here at AC Milan is a great honor for me and my teammates. We want to become part of this Club’s great story with AC Milan Woman. We know that it won’t be easy, we still have a few games this season and we know very well how important they are. From here on they are all finals, we going to do our best to reach the final because now it’s within our reach, and then to see the Champions League qualification now so close, which last year faded before the eyes."
On playing for the National Team:
"I think it's an honor for all of us to play for the national teams, each for their own country. It gives us more experience, something extra that we can use here on the pitch."
On the losses against Juventus in Serie A:
"These were two very difficult games that we thought about, analyzed them and tried to take good and bad things from them, to make sure we took something from them to improve ourselves somehow. Those are the games that make us work harder and to show our value and our strength, which I think we have done well. Now we have the last few games, they're all finals to me and we are going to do our very best."
On the strength of the team:
"I believe we have all the qualities to do well we till the end of the season. We are training well, we’re a united group, a great team, so we want to win this game and make it to the final. We’re gonna do our best indeed."
On the upcoming match against city rivals Internazionale:
"The city derby, the Derby della Madonnina is always the most beautiful game to play, and it’s not just a derby, it worth a place in the final, so we’ll be even more motivated, so we will give everything to take it home and make it to the Coppa Italia final."
