Carlo Ancelotti, headcoach of Everton in the Premier League, as well as a former football player and former AC Milan coach, gave an exclusive interview to Corriere dello Sport. These are some of Ancelotti's most interesting statements.
On the SuperLeague project:
"I'm okay with talking about business, about the football industry, since it moves 25 billion euros. At least that's what I read. However, I don't like it when business kills sporting merit. I was against the Super League because it did not consider the sporting merit. It takes a particular skill to combine business and merit and football must possess this ability, otherwise we are not there."
On Juventus, Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona who risk exclusion from the cups:
"I don't think it can be done. If they are disqualified it would end up penalizing the fans and the players of those teams who are the people who opposed the creation of the Super League. It is a paradox and an enormous injustice. This aspect of the question must be treated carefully. Fans and footballers have nothing to do with it: why punish them? And how would the TV stations that have paid for the rights of a full-fledged Champions League take it?"
