AC Milan Women defender and vice-captain Laura Fusetti spoke to the Milan TV’s microphone on the eve of the Sassuolo face-off in Serie A. She had her say on the last game, the hype for tomorrow’s game and much more.

Here are her words:

On the last game:

“We have already started analyzing the mistakes we made against Fiorentina. We were aware that a victory would have made everything much easier for us, but we have to start it over from the desire and grit that we put, above all, in the second half when we were trying to get back in the game, we must start from there and we are already committed to do better and improve for Saturday's game.”

On from where to pick up the pieces against Sassurolo:

“The fact that we did not give up but also created important occasions despite we were down to ten players, I think it is a good starting point. We learn that defeats teach lessons and I very much hope that from this defeat we will be able to become even stronger than before.”

On the Sassuolo showdown:

“It’s a very important clash, like all the other games so far were. Every game is a final and we absolutely reckon the opponent, they are a particularly good team. Sassuolo will want to show that they deserve the victory, but we know that we also want to prove this, and we still want to achieve the goal and flavor those satisfactions that I think we all deserve.”

On the last matches of the season:

I think the most important thing about the next games will be our mindset. I believe that if one wants to do, to prove she can do it for sure, even if there is a need to make up for some physical shortcomings. We are absolutely sorry for the defeat against Fiorentina on last Sunday, but we know that we must give our best, show how much we are worth and we must remain, beyond all, united as a team to achieve our goals.

On the Coppa Italia final:

“The league game against Roma was a bit of an appetizer of what will be the Coppa Italia final. We are extremely motivated because we want to take away these satisfactions. We will always try to give our best and it would be important to take home the first trophy with the Ac Milan shirt.”

On Maurizio Ganz’s reaction:

“The mister is always the first one to charge us up, to tell us not to give up. But to  give our best. It’s all up to us now and it's like that, so we have to try to do our best,  work hard and be ready and for the season finale.”
