As reported by Calciomercato, Milan have already secured Donnarumma's potential recplacement, Mike Maignan, and the likelihood of him being the next Rossoneri keeper is becoming more and more likely. Milan management had put renewals on hold until the conclusion of the season, now that we have reached that point, discussions have resumed. There are still many doubts about the renewal of keeper Gigio Donnarumma, and the speeches today did not elicit much hope of a renewal for the Italian.
According to French sources, Milan have accelerated their discussions with Lille keeper Maignan. The proposed contract already has agreement from both parties, with a basis of 15 million euros + bonus for a five year deal, equating to 3 million a year. This is a significant reduction from the 8 million a year Milan offered Donnarumma. The fact that Milan has increased their talks with the French profile does not suggest positive signs for Donnarumma. Juventus have also allegedly made an offer for Milan's keeper, and agent Mino Raiola certainly kept as many doors open as possible for his client during this process.
The acceleration in talks was so decisive that an annoucement is expected soon from Milan. It will only be a matter of time before we learn who will be in goal next year for the Rossoneri.
