Gianluigi Donnarumma's contract expires at the end of the season, in a month and it seems now impossible that he remains with the club because AC Milan management have already his replacement in town: Mike Maignan. The Frenchman will be taking over while the Italian will pack his things and leave elsewhere on a free.
The negotiations with Gigio's agent, Mino Raiola, were not actually fruitful, so the management executed their plan B instead of giving into the exaggerated economic requests.
As reported today by Il Corriere della Sera, Donnarumma was convinced that Milan will improve their proposal after securing Champions League qualification. However, Maldini (in agreement with the entire management and ownership) decided not to do so and took Maignan from Lille instead.
The Rossoneri club comes out of this story with their heads held high as they did not surrender to the demands of the super Italian-Dutch agent.
As for the Italian goalkeeper's next destination, Juventus are really keen to bring him over on a free move. But PSG and Barcelona are also interested. There could be an auction started to win Gigio's signature in the coming weeks.
