Quite a few players are set to return from their loan deals to the San Siro like Andrea Conti, Lorenzo Colombo, and Diego Laxalt but each one of them has a different path. One of the returnees is Atalanta's centre-back Mattia Caldara and in today's edition, Tuttosport highlights his situation and gives updates regarding it.
He has played very little within Gasperini's Atalanta team. They will not sign him permanently. He returns to Milanello. But, Stefano Pioli has many defenders available in the squad.
However, there is still a chance to see Caldara stay. As pointed out by the same source, the Italian coach would like to see the player in question in the training camp ahead of the start of the season and evaluate his profile himself before talking with the management.
For his part, Caldara would like the opportunity to prove and redeem himself especially after the last lacklustre few seasons he spent.
