AC Milan's target, reportedly, is still Olivier Giroud. Despite the Frenchman's contract extension exercised by the club, he could still leave England and join the Rossoneri if he manages to free himself.
According to today's edition of Il Corriere dello Sport, there are two alternatives for the Giroud deal.
One profile is Mariano Diaz of Real Madrid whose contract is valid until summer 2023. The 27 year-old player from Dominican Republic is not finding too much space behind the shadow of Karim Benzema. He's made 22 appearances this season, mostly coming off from the bench, and scored just one goal against Villareal.
The other name on the table is Sassuolo's Gianluca Scamacca who spent the season on loan at Genoa. The 22 year-old Italian centre forward has a long standing contract with the Neroverdi until 2025. He has been one of the main players for Genoa this season as he scored 12 goals between Serie A and Coppa Italia. He has been linked with AC Milan in the past as well.
