AC Milan defender Diogo Dalot has spoken to the Portuguese media after being called up by his national team for the European Championship to replace Joao Cancelo, who was tested positive to Covid-19. Here are his words:
"I was on vacation, I was at the restaurant and I received a call from Portugal. It was a special moment. I have wanted to be in the national team for a long time and therefore being here is a source of pride. I have heard that it is a very good group, united and that it helps to integrate. I hope to do it as soon as possible and help out. Cancelo? Definitely not a good time for him. I had the opportunity to speak with him and having his support at a time like this is fantastic. He is a great example to me for what he has done for our team. I wish him to recover soon, we will cheer him on."
