As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Edin Dzeko, who has recently been followed by Milan and others, seems destined to stay with his club in the Italian capital for another season. Dzeko's name appears to pop up every transfer session, and many thought that he may finally make a move from the Giallorossi this summer, but that is becoming more and more unlikely. Newly appointed manager Mourinho has positive feelings towards the 35-year-old Bosnian.
Milan and Serie A rival Juventus have been following the profile the last weeks. It was rumored Dzeko could be on the leave, and Milan and Juve were ready to jump on the opportunity. It is becoming more clear that the player will not be leaving, however, so the clubs will have to continue their search.
Milan have been in pursuit of reinforcements to the attack for next season. Maldini and Massara are reportedly close to securing the likes of Giroud, but could use more help up front if Ibra is set to miss time due to his knee injury. Dzeko would have added experience and size to the number 9 role, but it appears Milan may not even get a discussion in with the player and his entourage. Milan will keep tabs on Dzeko if the relationship with player and club falls apart.
