Olivier Giroud seems to be close to wearing the AC Milan shirt next season despite his recent contract extension with Chelsea.
According to what is reported today by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri could soon find an agreement with the agents of the French striker as final details of the operation should soon be settled.
If Chelsea were to release him for free, then the Frenchman would sign with Milan on a 2-year-contract worth 4 million euros per year with an option for a third year.
CEO Ivan Gazidis and directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara will conclude the operation only if it is possible not to pay for the player's card and have him join for free.
The player's agents reassured the Milanese board that Giroud would in fact leave on a free as Chelsea only extended the deal just so the player does not sign for any other Premier League club for free.
