AC Milan want to keep Sandro Tonali permanently and have been negotiating for quite a while now with Brescia president Massimo Cellino.
The talks to sign the young Italian midfielder have been ongoing since the end of the previous season campaign where the player played under the coaching of Stefano Pioli in Rossoneri colours on loan.
Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have gone beyond the reported buy-option deadline in the initial agreement (16 June) in order to negotiate better and favourable economic terms.
In today's edition of Il Giornale di Brescia, they point out that there was actually a new meeting between Milan and Brescia's managements in order to define the last details of the deal and close the negotiations.
The Rossoneri executives asked Massimo Cellino to provide them with a discount to complete the deal and the president did, in fact, accept Milan's demand.
Now, it's up to Milan owners Elliott to sanction the deal and give the formal 'go ahead' to wrap everything up, and Tonali will be able to join his teammates again.
Last night, Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed this news concerning the discount. It seems that we are at the final stages of the negotiations.
