AC Milan did not activate the buy-option clause for Sandro Tonali and went beyond the deadline by negotiating a new deal with Brescia in the hopes of obtaining a discount.
According to what Di Marzio claimed a few days ago, Milan were successful in reducing Brescia's economic demands for the player.
Now, another discount is being sought. But this time, it concerns Sandro Tonali's salary.
According to the latest news reported by the daily newspaper of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri managers are seeking to lower Tonali's wages. In the summer, he has signed on a deal that would see him earn 1.6 million euros salary per season. But, the deadline expired and now negotiations are underway to find a new agreement for a lower fee.
Brescia gave up 10 million euros to let the midfielder join Milan. Now, Maldini and Massara are expecting the player to cooperate in the talks and agree on a lower salary. It is likely that the issue will be addressed as early as next week.
Technically Tonali is still linked to Brescia for another two years with a salary of just 130 thousand euros and despite Maldini asking to lower the wage amount that is reported at 1.6 million euros, there is still a huge gap between the two contractual realities for the player. For his part, Sandro has never questioned his stay at Milanello.
The white smoke is very close to completing the deal. Signals have arrived from Elliott for the go-ahead of the negotiations. The Rossoneri will pay another 7 million euros (after the 10 million fee already spent last September for the loan), to reach 25 million euros there are 3 million of Olzer's valuation and the other 5 million euros in bonuses.
