The Rossoneri management, led by sporting director Frederic Massara as well as technical director Paolo Maldini, are determined to find an attacking midfielder to suit the needs of coach Stefano Pioli in view of the next season.
According to what has been confirmed by multiple sources, Milan has in its shortlist Sampdoria's young star who is Mikkel Damsgaard, author of good performances in the Euros within the ranks of Denmark's national team.
Now, sources at Tuttosport claim that Milan now has competition from Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid. In fact, Los Blancos have set their sights on the young jewel and would like to attempt signing him.
However, the newspaper adds that it is not just Real Madrid and Milan on the trail of the player now, as Liverpool, Tottenham, Leicester, Leeds United, Everton, Inter, Juventus, Roma and Barcelona have all taken note of what the 21-year-old Dane is capable of.
For their part, Sampdoria estimate the value of their star's card to be somewhere between 30 and 50 million euros.
