Fikayo Tomori has been a fan favourite and one of the best players for AC Milan since he came from Chelsea in the previous market window. The club decided to activate the option to buy his card permanently and now he is looking forward to a new full campaign with the Rossoneri in Serie A.
The English 23-year-old centre-back spoke to the microphones of Milan TV as he had this to say:
On completing move to AC Milan:
"Obviously it feels good. When people are happy to have you around, in any job, you feel like you're part of the whole organisation. By feeling like that, you'll perform better. I feel very comfortable and happy here. I feel like everybody has confidence in me. It is an extra motivation."
On keeping clean sheets:
"As a defender, you'd want to keep clean sheets, because when you do that, then the team has a better chance of winning the game and at the end of the last season, getting five clean sheets helped us get in the Champions League and finish second. We know we can score goals upfront and that's what we did, that's what carried us to the Champions League."
On playing the pre-season with Milan:
"Being able to do the pre-season with the whole team is going to be an advantage. I feel comfortable here and I'm just looking forward for the season to begin. Serie A has really good teams. But I don't really think it matters when you play each team, I think you just have to be ready and that is what we are doing now in the pre-season, working hard to to be ready when the games come."
On playing against the big teams:
"Playing against Juventus, Inter, Roma, Atalanta, and all these big teams... I don't think it matters, we will play them all eventually and we have to be ready."
On his goal against Juventus:
"I was in London and few Italians in London told me they remember my goal against Juventus and when I was just on my holidays, some people would come to me and ask me about it. It definitely is something that was on my mind. It's obviously my first goal for Milan in an important game against Juventus. Of course I would never forget it, but people sometimes like to remind me again."
Fikayo Tomori discusses Olivier Giroud's arrival to Milan:
"Oli (Giroud) is a nice person. He always helps and encourages the young ones around him. He's won the Champions League, the World Cup, and he's been part of France's team for a long time. He's very much a team player. He also won the French league (Ligue 1). He's a decorated player, to have someone like this in the team could be amazing, I'm sure he'll do very well."
On Milan playing the Champions League:
"It is very exciting. Milan has a lot of history in this competition. I'm looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to be playing in a full San Siro stadium, I haven't experienced that yet. People told me about a full San Siro in Champions League nights during my holidays, and who would have thought I'd be there? Hopefully, I can experience that. It can be a good season for us."
