Speaking in an exclusive interview with Milannews.it, former head of AC Milan's basic and scouting activities and now head of the Lazio youth sector, Mauro Bianchessi, revealed an interesting background story that could have ended with Paul Pogba wearing the red and black stripes instead of signing for Serie A rivals Juventus. Here are his words:
"We had many names. Some, we did not pursue for various reasons. But, when Pogba was not young, I tried and I even managed to negotiate, along with Galliani for the player 8 months before Juventus had signed him. However, for various reasons, the ownership decided not to carry on with it. Too bad."
Paul Pogba, French superstar international, moved from Juventus to Manchester United for a fee around 100 million euros in 2016.
