AC Milan will miss out on the services of French veteran striker Olivier Giroud in the game against Lazio. The former Chelsea frontman is positive to covid and will have a new test in 10 days.
Now, all eyes are on Zlatan Ibrahimovic to see if he can accelerate and be ready for the next games to come in this month.
If the Swede experienced attacker shows great signs, then Pioli would not hesitate to put him in the field against Lazio, he could at least enter during the game to have some minutes in his legs ahead of the game against Liverpool at the Anfield.
Coach Pioli must think of alternatives. Ante Rebic is being considered for the striker role against Lazio. The Croatian played in that position last season and could do it again if needed.
As for Pietro Pellegri, it is still difficult if he should be the starting striker, as he must first get into a good physical condition in order to play some matches.
Finally, there is Rafael Leao who is able to play as a striker. But, for the Italian coach, he will remain on the left flank. This was reported in today's edition of Corriere della Sera.
