For the Rossoneri summer transfer market, Florian Grillitsch was heavily linked with the club for some time.
The Austrian player is 26 years old playing for German side TSG Hoffenheim. He has a contract valid until the year 2022.
AC Milan's interest dates back to last spring as the club made an official proposal of 8 million euros plus 2 million euros as bonuses in order to secure the transfer of the midfielder.
For the player's part, he was ready to wear the red and black stripes. There was no problem on that front, but the issue was that Hoffenheim demanded more money. Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara decided they should not satisfy the German club's request.
The pricetag was at 15 million euros and there was no intention to give a discount, so the Italian club board decided to move on and shift attention.
The next target was Yacine Adli from Bordeaux. Milan found an agreement with the French club and signed the player.
As for Florian Grillitsch, though, Milan will not try to sign him again in the future even if he does not renew with Hoffenheim. The Rossoneri managers are convinced that Yacine Adli is the future as they believe in his ability.
