Some minutes before the match against Spezia in Alberto Picco stadium, coach Stefano Pioli talked to the media about the game and in particular about Daniel Maldini who is set for his first official start with the Rossoneri:
"He has known since the beginning of the season that he is the reference in that position together with Diaz. Lacking Brahim, I chose him because he has the quality to do well in that position."
On Giroud:
"If I chose him it is because he is well. He spent two particular weeks, but he trained well. He knows how to move very well both in depth and between the lines. He will know how to be in good positions to give us good solutions. La Spezia's football is a dynamic and intense team that wants to be proactive and attacks with a lot of players. We should be good at facing a strong team."
