AC Milan striker, Olivier Giroud, who joined the club in the transfer market window last summer, has granted an interview to French broadcaster Telefoot.

The player discussed his choice of moving to the Serie A giants, the Rossoneri:

"A lot of things have happened in recent weeks and months. Choosing Milan was obvious. I was a fan of the great Milan when I was younger, that of Papin, Van Basten, Baresi. For me, it is a great pride to have been able to sign in this club. I hope to have fun here. The welcome I received was wonderful. I was welcomed like family. I made an excellent debut, I feel very good there and I am thirsty to win with Milan."

The first goal for the Rossoneri:

"It was something that hadn't happened to me since mid-March. It was a feeling of happiness to play as a starter and have fun like in my early youth. I don't think I could have asked for anything better, honestly."

Giroud on Ibrahimovic:

"Zlatan is a monument. There will be a real competition between us."

On France national team:

"I don't know if we can say that we have already digested the elimination from the EUROs, there is still a sour taste. We need to move on. Not summoned in September? Yes, it surprised me a little. Especially the fact of not having been informed before. But... We must once again move forward and see what the future holds. We are happier when we are on the pitch, play and help the team. But here, there are choices there and you have to respect them and it has to be. Upcoming calls? We'll see. As usual, we don't have to worry. If they call me, I'll do my best to help the team. Why not try to get a little closer to Henry? The future will tell us."

On the Premier League:

"I liked the Premier League a lot. But at some point we had to make a decision. The last three months I've lived there, and then I told the coach, Tuchel, it was too difficult. So for me it was obvious to leave the club. It was a page that has been turned, with emotion and beautiful moments spent. Some good, and others were less good, but there were still 3 good titles."

On the goal of winning the Scudetto

"I hope so. We have the qualities, the young players. I think we have all the chances this year, with the group that we have. So it is a clear and precise objective."
