Speaking to the microphones of Milan TV, coach Stefano Pioli spoke on the eve of AC Milan - Atletico. These are his words:
"The performances of this team were certainly positive. The difficulties we encountered demonstrated how hard the Serie A is but we won difficult games by showing good qualities and a good mentality that proved that we are on the pitch with much focus. Now let's think about tomorrow's match. The first Champions League game (against Liverpool) did not bring a positive result and tomorrow night is an important match against a strong team and we need to raise the level of our performances."
On the analysing the team's matches:
"We have always been good at analysing our performances and trying to improve the positives and not making the mistakes that led us to lose the game in Liverpool. When the levels rise, mistakes are paid dearly. We have to make a performance of a better level and with great attention because we play against a mature team who is very ready to capitalise on the mistakes of the opponent."
On the AC Milan fans:
"They are giving us incredible enthusiasm and support and it will be like that tomorrow evening. We must take the energy from them to put on the field. We are young in this competition but we can supply this youth with ideas, organisation and enthusiasm", concluded Pioli.
