AC Milan are set to face an important obstacle in their race to sign attacking midfielder who has been on their radar for some time now. Newcastle has entered the scene, ready to overtake Il Diavolo.

Club technical area director Paolo Maldini and sporiting director Frederic Massara have been looking to improve their attacking midfield area by signing 23-year-old talent Romain Faivre who plays for French side: Brest. His contract is valid until 2025.

Romain Faivre was close to joining the Rossoneri in the previous summer market session. However, the deal fell through as Brest decided to remove him fro mthe transfer list and keep him for the time being.

Recently, reports have claimed that AC Milan are still eyeing up a transfer for the player with Gianluca Di Marzio saying that the 23-year-old can still hope for a move to Milanello and would say yes in case Paolo Maldini comes knocking again.

Now, Italian outlet Calciomercato.it are citing news from German and English sources who are insisting that the Franco-Algerian jewel is now on the sights of Premier League side Newcastle.

The Magpies have recently been purchased by Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) which is ready to overhaul the club over the years and improve their presence in the league thanks to important financial resources and management.

Newcastle are reportedly ready to strike a deal with Brest for Romain Faivre and beat the competition coming from the Rossoneri. The Ligue 1 talent is valued somewhere around 15 to 18 million euros and is liked by other important European clubs.
