AC Milan, after a difficult battle against AS Roma tonight, were able to come out of the Olimpico stadium victorious.
The match was a difficult one right from the start as Mourinho's men wanted to conquer and collect three points. However, the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front was simply too valuable for the Milan players. Stefano Pioli was right to rely on his star man who managed to score a stunning freekick which Rui Patricio had no way of even seeing.
Ibrahimovic later also scored a goal but it was rightfully called offside. However, the Swede did not stop there as he continued to put his weight on the defensive department of Roma which struggled massively to keep him on check. The 40-year-old attacker won a penalty around the 55th minute, which was coolly converted by Franck Kessié.

Milan were leading 2-0 and the match looked like it was secure. However, referee Fabio Maresca had his say in the match, there were simply too many yellow cards. The referee from Napoli showed 7 yellow cards to AC Milan with a red card and 4 yellow ones to Mourinho's players.
The match was too physical and started getting harder around the 69th minute when Theo Hernandez was sent off with a red card.
Right then, AS Roma started sensing some hopes as they attacked non-stop. Simon Kjaer was one of the best players on the pitch as he helped block most of the attempts from the Roman team. Finally, Il Giallorossi put the ball past the net of Tatarusanu thanks to Stefan el Shaarawy in the 93rd minute, with around 3 more minutes to go.
The 'storm' passed with no more damage to Il Diavolo, luckily. Down to only 10 men for more than 20 minutes, AC Milan managed to grab a very precious win after Napoli's victory against Salernitana. Therefore, the Serie A standings now see Milan sit at the top of the table with Napoli as both have 31 points so far. Inter are third with 24 points while AS Roma are fourth with 19 points.
