Sandro Tonali, in his second season with AC Milan, is showing great progress and more confidence in the system of coach Stefano Pioli.
The player wants to win the Scudetto, but he is aware that Milan are not the favourites to win it yet:
"The championship is very long and it is difficult to say now who is the favorite. We started as strong as last year and we want to continue like this until the end. That said, any Milan player believes that the Scudetto can be won", he said to Corriere della Sera.
The young midfielder discusses the change in performance compared to last season:
"Sometimes, there are shots that your head makes you do without you noticing. Maybe having been purchased permanently by Milan calmed me, but there were also other details that gave me a hand."
Tonali on Stefano Pioli:
"Last year he understood my difficulties and always put me in the best conditions to express myself. Same with my teammates. The coach is a great person who tries to help you even off the pitch and this is fundamental."
The former Brescia player is looking forward to play the Derby della Madonnina with his teammates:
"Inter is a good team and is proving it again this year. But we are Milan and we don't stop in front of anyone. Prediction? The derby is a game within a game", he said, "It is impossible to make a prediction."
On being close to signing for Inter in the summer of 2020:
"They are details that I also do not know. I had detached myself from everything and knew nothing. Now I am where I dreamed of being", replied Tonali who later added:
"If Milan receive a great offer to sell me abroad? I don't think anything would change in my head compared to the choice I made almost a year and a half ago. I know what I went through to wear this shirt and I would make a mistake to leave it."
