AC Milan collected only one point last night at the San Siro in what was a very difficult derby fixture. A 1-1 draw ended the game as the two teams shared the spoils.
La Gazzetta dello Sport commented on the game overall as they revealed their ratings.
According to what was reported by the Milanese newspaper, the best player on the pitch was Sandro Tonali who received a 7 rating, same as Fikayo Tomori and Ciprian Tatarusanu who managed to make a spectacular save on Lautaro Martinez' well-hit penalty.
Then, Alexis Saelemaekers and Pierre Kalulu also showed some good qualities when they entered as replacements as they both were awarded a 6.5 for their effort.
Next on the ratings sheet, Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Rade Krunic, Rafael Leao, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ismael Bennacer have been shown a 6 for their performances. They could have done more to help the team further.
Franck Kessié did not impress as he gave away a penalty after fouling Hakan Calhanoglu who later converted it.
Brahim Diaz was deployed as a right-winger from the start and was not able to make an impact that the coach and fans were hoping for during the derby. A rating of 5 for him and also for Ante Rebic.
The worst player on the pitch, however, as selected by the newspapr, was Fodé Ballo-Touré who fouled Darmian and gave a second penalty that could have been avoided. He was given a 4.5 rating for his display. He was later replaced during half-time by Pierre Kalulu.
