Kakha Kaladze, former AC Milan defender, gave a long interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport microphones . Here are his words:
On Paolo Maldini:
"He is a totem, I had his poster in my bedroom, you can imagine when I found myself next to him, I felt chills. The work he has done up to now as a manager seems to me excellent: there are new elements that with Pioli they play modern football."
On Shevchenko:
"When I arrived in Kiev Andriy immediately proved to be a friend by helping me to enter the locker room and making me known the city. We have similar characters, we are people dedicated to work and sacrifice, qualities honed by Lobanovski, a great teacher. He was of great help and support especially with the language, luckily he already spoke a little Italian and between us, we spoke Russian in the beginning. Sheva as a coach? He doesn't surprise me. Sheva has the right mentality and works for the goals and he gets there. As a great friend of his, I think he is following the correct path, starting from the national team and now in a club..."
Kaladze on Milan's project:
"I like this AC Milan team because it has many youngsters. They did well to keep Ibra as the great teacher within the club as he is making Leao, Tonali, Saelemekers and Tomori grow. Tomori is very strong with Simon Kjaer and he will improve even further. I hope to see AC Milan at the top levels in the Champions League, but it takes patience..."
