Alessandro Costacurta granted an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport to discuss AC Milan's current moment in view of the Champions League fixture against Liverpool. Here are his words:
"Tonight, Milan can win, especially if Liverpool make a big rotation in their lineup. But, a great performance will be needed. In this regard, I am referring above all to the central defenders and the winger... Everyone will have to participate in the ball recovery phase."
On AC Milan's growth:
"The Rossoneri are not yet ready to lead in Europe, but the base is there. The slap at home against Porto helped to understand where to improve and immediately afterwards, in Madrid, Pioli's men were excellent. A similar display of superiority was also unusual for my great Milan. We have won a lot and done great feats away but few times with such authority. Here, I am amazed by the ability of these young people to learn from mistakes. Now we have to go on like this."
Costacurta on Ibrahimovic:
"To understand how decisive he was, just think about where Milan were at the time of his arrival and where they are today. Nobody in Serie A has had a similar influence in the last two years, it's phenomenal."
About Tonali:
