Coach Stefano Pioli of AC Milan is not pleased with the performance against Udinese. Here are his statements to the microphones of Sky Sport Italia:
"Tonight, we weren't able to have that clarity and precision that should have helped us put such an organized defense in difficulty. If we continue to give away goals, the games become even more complicated. We didn't create clear scoring chances but we got there a lot inside the area. We had to draw it first and then try to win it. Many mistakes in the middle of the field. We are conceding almost all the goals, losing balls and making the wrong choice, we can play more open and less central. You pay for these situations and the games become more difficult. Now we need to accelerate, the lads know when they play well and when we do, the last two performances have not been exciting and we must try to do better. Tonali's words? hey are important because there is the ability to understand situations and react. We have lost consistency between the departments, we are not lucid and by leaving room for our opponents we risk too much."
Pioli added:
"We need to fix something in both stages. Midfield? Both in the league and in the cup we played well or badly with all the midfielders, it is not a question of individuals. There was an error of assessment today. It was the seventh game in twenty days, I had to do some turnover but I chose strong players of Milan. There just needs to be more attention to put all our characteristics on the pitch."
