The defender search for AC Milan managers Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara is proving to be really difficult. The club has still not signed a centre-back.
According to Sky Sport Italia, there are still contacts ongoing between Milan and French outfit Lille for the signing of Sven Botman.
According to the same source, the owners of AC Milan, Elliott, are in direct contacts with those at Lille. The parties are trying to see if a deal can be reached.
For the record, the two clubs are both on good terms after the purchases of Rafael Leao and Mike Maignan. Lille are now owned by Merlyn Advisors who bought the club from Elliott.
The Dutch centre-back, 22 years old, has appeared in 19 games so far across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist. His contract with the French club expires until June 2025.
