Florenzi: “I have the right experience to give advice. But I also learn from the more experienced ones”

AC Milan full-back, Alessandro Florenzi after granting an interview to Milan TV, has spoken to DAZN with a focus on his career, the Rossoneri club, and much more:

"The experience at Valencia opened up a world to me as a man. I had never had an experience abroad and I was struck by Valencia, so much so that we can't wait to go back with our girls. Going to a locker room without speaking the language helped me a lot to grow, I hope I have left a good memory both in Spain and in Paris. These are two stages that I will never forget."

He continued:

"I certainly miss Rome because it is part of me. It was, is and will be the team that I have supported since childhood and for which I have given everything. The moment I realized that our paths were separating is when they told me that heroes were no longer needed for Roma fans. In front of me there was a succession of farewells from De Rossi and Totti and I understood that it was my turn. I did it trying to give as few problems as possible and behaving like an exemplary professional. I accepted it and moved on. The experience abroad helped me because I have never faced Roma, now meeting them in the league was a bit difficult. I would never have rejoiced at a goal."

About the Euros competition...

"In the final I had Bonucci and Chiellini close together during the penalties, I would have been the sixth penalty taker and after Jorginho's mistake I would have gone myself. Leo looked at me and I said 'yes I have to pull it, but now Gigio saves it from him'. We all noticed it except him, I don't know what, but it was a beautiful competition."

Florenzi talked about his first few months at Milanello...

"Everything is fine, I have found a beautiful family. We are very close. The season is going well. Our goal is clear, we want to fight for something important. I have the right experience to give advice, but I'm always the one trying to learn from those with more experience. Here I find myself very often giving advice to the boys. They call me 'Spizzi', maybe we have convinced the coach too because there are too many 'Ale'."

"The coach is giving us a very specific identity: that of intensity, of taking the one-on-one path. We have strong players to do this. The free-kicks? Maldini and Giroud also take free-kicks very well in training. Whoever feels it kicks them", said Florenzi.

On Calhanoglu's goal in the derby...

"Assuming that I have nothing against Calhanoglu, also because he left good memories at Milan, I think he disrespected the Milan fans, celebrating in that way after the penalty scored in the Derby. I didn't take it for the exultation itself, but for the way it ended: it was on a complicated situation and there is a substantial difference between the happiness of a goal in the Derby and his final reaction."
