AC Milan's veteran forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been getting hit with many injuries lately. The Swede is working hard to recover but it seems that his estimated recovery time should take more time than initially planned concerning his current physical condition, as per a report.
The 40-year-old's contract is due to expire at the end of the season. Sky Sport Italia's journalist Manuele Baiocchini commented on the situation as he said the following:
"At the end of the season, a line will be drawn regarding Ibra's renewal and what should be done next. Milan already set up Ibra's contract on a lot of bonuses: a low fixed part and a large bonus part which depends on the games played and the goals scored. The maximum ceiling is 7 million euros."
"On one hand, Ibrahimovic does not want to be a mascot to the club. But, on the other hand, Pioli knows that Zlatan is a strong player who wants to play. It's a complicated renewal, but I don't think there's a chance the parties will break up badly. It will be a decision made by mutual agreement at the end of the season."
