Former Milan and Inter defender, Thomas Helveg granted an interview to the microphones of the daily Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport:
On the Scudetto:
"The road is still long, the championship is very interesting. I believe that in the end the Scudetto will end in Milan. I don't know if Inter or Milan will win it, but it will certainly be a good fight, in which Napoli could also enter, even if I see the Neapolitans a little more detached. I believe that everything will be decided in the last few matches, if not the last."
On the current team's similarity with that of the 1998-1999 season:
"Being able to prepare only one match a week was important. Zaccheroni had just arrived as a coach, he was playing his game and we had to learn to understand what he wanted. Little by little we improved and in the end we were playing by heart. Our squad was also made up of great champions and this also made the difference. We understood that the moment of great success was just around the corner. We won one, two, three games: we convinced ourselves that it was really worth believing. Then our efforts paid off."
Helveg on the team:
"Last year there were already strong positive signs, this year is the confirmation of having a team that can compete for the Scudetto. Perhaps a final victory for the Rossoneri would be a surprise, I hope it would be very nice, because Milan did not celebrate winning a trophy in years."
