Former French centre-forward who won the Ballon d'Or and who also has played for AC Milan from 1992 to 1994, Jean-Pierre Papin, had a lot of praise to say about his countrymen Olivier Giroud and Pierre Kalulu.
He had this to say about the former Chelsea striker:
"Milan are making a comeback. Pioli has an important squad and the turnover is up to everyone, even those who have won and scored a lot like Ibra and Giroud."
Giroud won the derby for his team but he stopped in the league after...
"That's what Olivier is like, his story says it: he doesn't always score. But, he solves the important games. He decides a derby, or maybe a game for first place in standings against Napoli..."
"There are players, like Ibra, who charge themselves with whistles, and others, like Giroud, who give their best when they feel loved. San Siro has that effect on you there, scoring in that stadium gives you an inexplicable charge. But, as I said Giroud knows how to leave his mark when the stakes are high. You will see that he will start scoring away goals too", he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Jean-Pierre Papin on Pierre Kalulu:
"Kalulu? He amazed me the most. He has grown a lot in two years. I didn't expect to see him already so ready at these levels."
