AC Milan's Italian full-back, Davide Calabria granted an interview today to the microphones of the club's official channel.

On his drive to Milanello, in a partnership with BMW, he said the following:

"This city? I have a good relationship with Milan, I like it a lot. I am originally from Brescia, but I was basically brought up by this city. It is beautiful for the services it has, it is well managed and it is small so it is easy to get around. People are open to tourists and ready to pamper you. We live very well here."

On his attention to the environment:

"I'm someone who cares. I do the little things they ask of us. I believe electric car technology is going in that direction. First of all, separate collection is very important. In the early days in my town in the province of Brescia, Adro, was doing very well. I've always lived it normally. When I started living in other realities, I noticed that it was missing. I must say that at Milanello we are all very polite about this thing. We try to waste as little as possible. I'm sure this aspect should be taught in schools."

On the fight against all kinds of discrimination:

"It's all a matter of growing up with certain right concepts. I've been with Milan for 15 years, so I started to understand these things as a child. I think it is fundamental. I really appreciate Milan and how football is moving in general."

Calabria on his current moment and his career so far:

"I consider myself in the middle of my career at Milan. It is an age in which you have arrived as the next few years will probably be the most important ones of your career. I still think it's quite personal as a thing. From 25 to 30 you see yourself as a trained man, as a professional. I have great ambitions, expectations both for me and for Milan who deserve to return to the levels we are used to."

On his family:

"In the family we have always been Milan fans, except my mother who is not passionate. My uncle was a Juventus supporter, so if she were to choose she would probably go to Juve, but not anymore. Since I joined Milan she started to be a Rossonera too."

On the first game he attended at the San Siro:

"I'm almost certain it was Milan-Lille in the Champions League. I didn't go often because I was playing in the youth sector. I was in the Curva of the green sector because I didn't have much of an income (smiles). I was there with my friends. The Lille fans were behind us and we would act like blowhards (laughs)."

On the passion for football:

" I have always loved the sense of freedom that playing football gave me. Maybe it was that sense of being able to do the thing I liked best in the world with my friends. I've never tied myself to things, characters."

On his role and evolution:

"I was not one of those rough midfielders (laughs), I relied more on intelligence. We used to play 7-a-side so there were fewere positions. I played in midfield, probably the only one in a 7-man team. But, I joined Milan as a defensive midfielder. I played there as a mezzala in a 3-man midfield because that was how we lined up in the youth team. Then, around the team in the U-17s, especially with Inzaghi as coach, I was regularly fielded as a left-back because we were lacking players. I spent the whole U-17 as a left-back under Inzaghi, on the other flank.  I have adapted to the role. It was one of the most important years of the youth sector. I had done so well that he confirmed me the following year, moving to the right."

On his debut for the First Team:

"I lived the moment of the debut well, but it wasn't the best moment. It was kind of a participation trophy, giving you a chance to make your appearance. I wanted to play, I wanted to be part of the team and earn my chance and not just for a minute."

He added:

"In the next year, I was considered for a loan move, but then I played a few games under Mihajlovic and he told me that he did not want me to go out on loan and that I will be staying. Even though they were friendly games, they were moments for me", declared Calabria.

On the female figures in his life:

"My mother is the most important person who has been in my life, for my growth path: she has been there in every important stage. I have a wonderful relationship with my sister. Ilaria is my girlfriend: we have been together for many years and she accompanied me in these ups and downs, I think it was not easy for her to bear me."

Davide Calabria on his father:

"He was unfortunately less present. But, it is because he worked hard and I am here thanks to him. Even today that I'm well off, he still goes to the fields to work because he likes it. He can't stay at home all day. I hope in the future to be able to stay more in the family: I too, like my father, will not be able to sit still all day."
