Gianluigi Donnarumma did not extend his contract with AC Milan despite the efforts from Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara to keep him. The Italian goalkeeper, who is represeted by super FIFA agent Mino Raiola, instead, opted for a move on a free transfer to French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Talking about the move, the former AC Milan goalkeeper revealed that it was Juventus' legendary goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon who convinced him to make the switch from San Siro to Parc des Princes. Here are his statements to the microphones of Bein Sport:
"I'm here thanks to Buffon as he suggested that I sign for PSG and make history there. Paris was in my destiny and the club never gave up on me. I am very proud to be here."
