Pierre Kalulu who displayed a strong performance in the game against Napoli last week has granted an interview to Milan TV as he spoke about that victory among other topics:
"It was really pleasing because that was a tough game against a strong team. This gives it more importance also because they are our direct rivals in the standings. It was really nice to get the win."

On playing for Milan:
"I have learnt the importance of this shirt, this team, the club's history; I knew it before but the whole extent of it and now I fully understand how big this club is in Italy and in the world. I learned the importance of working hard each day. It may seem normal, but you need to work hard every day to be competitive and strong in every single game and be available."
On his play style and role:
"I think I learned how to be a modern defender from a young age. When I was at Lyon, earlier in my career, the coaching style at the whole club was focused on being complete players: technique, speed, playing with the ball at your feet and also reading the game."
"I was never just a centre-back, I'd play a season as a central defender then 6 months as a full-back. Then, I'd be playing a totally different role. There was always the desire to be a good player, even in the youth sectors. That's how I see the role of a defender in general: I'm never afraid when I'm on the pitch. I just want to play football and do it well."
Kalulu added:
"Of course there are some games which are more important than some others. But, playing games is all the same for me. Maybe the grounds with the better atmosphere make you wake up a bit more in pre-match. When the game starts, it becomes instinctive. I'd just play like I did when I was younger."
On his style when he was younger:
"As a kid, I was never fast or strong. I have worked really hard on that since when I was 15 or 16. So now, I'm a lot faster. I can still work on this. However, I think I improved in all aspects as a defender and I can get better."
On preparing for the next game:
"In general, I always try to be in top form in all aspects as a defender: speed, vision of the game and also going forward. In seeing the game that way, it's akways good to stay humble because it will be a difficult match against Empoli. We will play at home, but we know that each game in Serie A is a tough one becayse they are all different. But, we will work hard this week to be ready for Saturday", concluded Kalulu his interview with the official club's channel.
