AC Milan's boss, Stefano Pioli, entrusted his words to those at Sky Sport Italia by discussing the narrow win, as it is the third consecutive 1-0 result for his side:
"The best way is to close the games, but we are working very well with and without the ball with great sacrifice and collaboration. This is the way."
He added:
"We are doing excellent things, but we also know that there are 4 teams that can win the Scudetto. The calendar is very complicated for everyone, it is useless to look too many ahead. Let's focus on our path which is positive: let's not go further."
On the player's attitude:
"I liked them a lot. What matters is having the right mentality without being influenced too much by the temporary result."
An excellent performance today by AC Milan:
"With all due respect to the opponents, today there are the lessons learned in the last few games. We are devoted to attack, to always create dangers and if we do that we attack even better. We are not able to defend low. Each player has his own characters."
There were important opportunities wasted, however...
"We have to try these things again in training. To score goals you need quality and determination and they are things that can be trained. We have to close games when we have the possibility, otherwise we risk not winning."
Pioli on what happened at the end of the game:
"Maignan told me that he received racist insults. No one deserves these kind of insults, I'm really sorry"
