The club highly deems the efforts of Stefano Pioli and all of his players and coaching staff as the team right now is at the top of the league table. However, there is a general consensus at the Casa Milan offices that the club could do better if there is the right support in the transfer market in the summer.

The club suffered a blow against Bologna as they could not emerge victorious once again versus a team that sits in the wrong half of the table. The management is fully aware that Milan could become a lot stronger if a few positions are strengthened in the summer and one of them is the right-winger role.
On that right flank, there is Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias. The Belgian winger has disappeared as he does not convince the coach much while the Brazilian is also struggling to create important offensive plays to help out his teammates in attack.

Milan Reports understands that the 30-year-old winger is now walking on thin ice. Stefano Pioli may be willing to keep using him as he does not have many options on the right. But it is not entirely excluded at all that outcast Samu Castillejo is thrown back into the team sheet in the coming games if the forms of Messias and Saelemaekers too do not change for the better.
The Rossoneri management has the right to exercise a buy-option. However, they are now evaluating other options. The question for them now is: 'Is Messias worth 5.4 million euros?' (the transfer fee necessary to activate the buy-option).
Right now, and going at this rate, it is unlikely that the Brazilian stays. He may return to Crotone and look for a transfer elsewhere as the Serie B club could be relegated to Serie C at the end of the season.
AC Milan, for their part, in case both parties are seperated in the summer, will go into the market looking for a right-winger. One of the names who please Frederic Massara and Paolo Maldini is Domenico Berardi. However, Sassuolo will demand a big fee around 30 million euros which is deemed too high for the Rossoneri.

Noa Lang (mainly a left-winger) is also on the radar as a candidate to fill the right flank instead of Junior Messas as he can play there too.

Many profiles are being evaluated, and it is still early at the moment to talk about negotiations because, the club is now focusing on finishing the season to try to get their hands on an elusive Scudetto that has been missing since 2011.
