AC Milan are likely to lose the services of their central defender and captain Alessio Romagnoli. The former AS Roma defender may be planning an exit route towards Lazio, the club he always cheered for.

The Rossonero number 13 made 25 appearances this season only. He lost the starting spot in the lineup of Stefano Pioli when Fikayo Tomori arrived. At first, the English central defender played with Simon Kjaer. Then, with the unfortunate injury of the experienced Dane, Romagnoli played a few games before losing his place once again but this time to 21-year-old French starlet Pierre Kalulu.

Romagnoli, who is currently recovering from injury, could be on his way out of the San Siro at the end of the season. This is why Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are keen on bringing on another defender in the summer's transfer window.

According to The Sun, Fabian Schar who plays for Newcastle is now also on the radar for AC Milan. The 30-year-old Swiss player is also represented by the agent who met with the club directors recently: Volker Struth.
Fabian Schar has a contract which expires at the end of the coming season June 2022. Therefore, he would be a free agent. He made 22 appearances this season with 2 goals and 2 assists to his name in the Premier League.
