Franck Kessié's exit towards FC Barcelona leaves AC Milan fans hurt and disappointed. The club directors have tried to keep the player within reasonable and affordable wages. However, the Ivorian midfielder's entourage opted for a different option which would bring them more money: a move to the Camp Nou on a Bosman.

The Rossonero number 79 has already signed on a pre-contract and will be a new Barcelona player come the summer. Now, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara do not want to experience this issue again and are trying to secure their star player on a new deal. We are talking about Rafael Leao.
According to Calciomercato.it, the AC Milan club management is trying to extend his deal at a contract worth around 4.5 million euros ner per season with bonuses, something similar to the new deal which Theo Hernandez signed on earlier this year. Today, Leao earns just a little under 1.5 million euros per season.

The Portuguese left-winger, for his part, would welcome a stay at the San Siro and has asked his agent to find an agreement with the Rossoneri.
What we are sure of, writes the source, is that the fate of Leao will not be like Kessie. The former Lille star, in fact, will not be leaving for free as his contract runs until June 2024. AC Milan would like to close the renewal deal soon, but the legal dispute involving the player with Sporting Lisbon obviously does not help.
In addition to that, Leao has also some suitors, particularly in France. PSG are in fact interested in signing him. But Milan are convinced that they can keep the former Sporting Lisbon player with a contract extension and they are not willing to sell him.
"It is clear, however, that in the current transfer market no one is really not transferable", writes Calcio Mercato. In the event he is sold, his pricetag would be around 70 million euros.
