AC Milan lost 3-0 yesterday against Inter in a match that was valid for the second leg of the semi-final in the Coppa Italia competition. Lautaro Martinez was having a brilliant night as he scored a brace for himself while Robin Gosens sealed the victory as he scored in the 82nd minute.

Commenting on the loss is Arrigo Sacchi who wrote his usual piece to La Gazzetta dello Sport in today's edition:
"A deserved victory for Inter", he said, "But, punishing Milan is excissive. The teams must be collectives, they must move within thirty meters, be united, compact. Nowadays, if you want to win the international level, you have to do this."
On the first goal scored by Lautaro Martinez:
"They opened the game immediately with a good goal from Lautaro. Then, they bet on the counter-attack. But, AC Milan was too inattentive and that demonstration also took place on the occasion of the second goal."

Sacchi added:
"Inter have an advantage over Milan, because they can take advantage of the higher technical quality and greater experience. Milan, only if they are compact, if they play as a team, like a real team, can they have a say here. Otherwise, there is no pressing. There is no organisation, there is no synergy between departments and between individuals. If the Rossoneri are scattered around the field, they show all their limits."
On what Milan are lacking:
"Milan are lacking compactness. They manage to achieve results when the team is a collective: when all the players move connected to each other, in synchrony. Distances are fundamental, they must be respected: if they are not there, the individuals go alone to the field and the team is no longer there. This is the problem."

On what he liked about the Nerazzurri team:
"On a technical and experience level, there is no match between the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri. Inter are a great team and are certainly closer than Milan to reaching European levels, also thanks to the investments made. But even the Nerazzurri, must improve and become a collective: the attackers have the obligation to defend and the defenders must support the construction of the action. Only in this way can important goals be achieved", said Sacchi.
On the Milan players:
"Leao is a boy. Let's say that he doesn't excite you for his commitment, but he has great qualities and has ample room for improvement. It's up to him to take on the future, working hard and with commitment every day. Giroud was served little, but in general, I repeat, Milan amazes when they play as a team. Against Inter, on the other hand, I saw many players scattered around the pitch."
Sacchi concluded:
"I don't think that this result would affect the championship race. The success will give strength to Inter, but they had already recovered after the negative period. I don't think that defeat can affect Milan's morale: the Rossoneri have a duty to believe in their qualities, in their spirit of sacrifice and in their enthusiasm. They are young, and when one is young, the blows are overcome quickly. The important thing, however, is that they become compact and united again."
