Gianluca Di Marzio spoke to the Sky Sport Italia microphones about the former Brescia jewel's performance and said the following:

"He does not look like Pirlo or his idol Gattuso. He is a player with particular characteristics. He is still maturing and therefore those who coach him could also discover new qualities. Against Verona, he was a tactical masterpiece done by Pioli as he understood that he can take advantage of Tonali's ability to integrate."

Di Marzio added:

"Sandro Tonali has grown above all from a mental point of view. Sometimes, there is too much rush with the young players, it took him a year to become important for Milan. Being a Milan fan helped him. Now we are discovering a great player. Like all young players, he, too, needed just a little time."
