AC Milan are very keen on reinforcing the attacking department in the coming transfer window. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 40 years old, suffered a lot from numerous injuries. Stefano Pioli had to rely, most of the time, on Olivier Giroud who is 35 years old. The French centre-forward did deliver on occasions. However, to keep the team competitive and make it stronger, new 'blood' and fresh bodies are needed.

This is where Divock Origi comes in. It has been already widely reported that the Rossoneri management are very intent on bringing the star striker of Liverpool to Milanello to lead the attack. The Liverpool fan-favourite has a contract expiring at the end of the season and he will not renew it. There was a clause for an automatic contract extension by 1 year in case the forward achieves a set number of starts for The Reds. But, the number will not reached.
The Athletic report that Divock Origi will be saying bidding his farewell to his teammates at Anfield Road soon:
"Divock Origi will (...) wave goodbye in the coming months. The Belgian striker’s last game involvement could be the Champions League final against Real Madrid. The 27-year-old has not reached the number of appearances that would have triggered a one-year extension on the deal he signed in 2019. The player’s representatives have been in advanced talks with AC Milan over a move to Italy."
