Zlatan Ibrahimovic underwent a successful surgery which will keep him away from the football pitch for a period estimated to be around 7 to 8 months.
The Swede centre-forward of AC Milan wrote a message on his Instagram account. It reads the following:
"In the last six months, I have played without an anterior cruciate ligament in my left knee. The swollen knee was six months old. I have only been able to train with the team 10 times in the last six months. Had more than 20 injections in six months. I emptied my knee once a week for six months. Painkillers every day for six months. I barely slept for six months due to pain. Never suffered so much on and off the pitch. I made something impossible into something possible. In my mind I had only one goal, to make my teammates and coach Italian champions because I made them a promise. Today, I have a new anterior cruciate ligament and another trophy."
